Can you give me a brief introduction as to how catchmee works?
Catchmee is a software package that you can install on mobile phones. After installation, catchmee records all of the data such as phone book, text messages and other phone calls and phone location from your mobile phone and sends the data via an internet data tunnel to your personal myCatchmee account on our catchmee server. You can view this data at any time from a PC or notebook. For example, you can use a predefined number that you enter as you install catchmee, remotely switch on the microphone of the corresponding mobile phone, and listen in on the sounds around the phone.

You can find out more about the technical side and view a detailed summary at Demo.
What is remote listening?
Using catchmee Ultimate, Remote listening means that you can remotely switch on the microphone of the mobile phone you are monitoring. Once this mobile phone is called from a certain number, the microphone switches on automatically and you can hear the sounds surrounding the phone.
As soon as the user uses the phone or calls someone, remote listening switches off.

Which languages does catchmee support?
Catchmee supports any language and character set. All of your text messages and phone numbers will be shown properly in your catchmee console (www.mycatchmee.com).
How do I find out whether my mobile phone is internet-ready?
Catchmee needs an internet connection to send data. You can find out whether your phone is internet-ready by trying to open a website from your mobile. To make sure, ask your mobile phone’s manufacturer. All new mobile phones are internet-ready!
I have WAP, isn’t that internet?
WAP is one option for reaching the internet with a mobile phone, but it can’t be used for transferring data such as e-mails.
An internet connection is easy to set up. Just call your internet provider to help you configure your mobile phone.
How do I configure my mobile phone for the internet?
Contact your provider and ask them to help you. There are three connectivity forms that you can configure in your mobile phone, which are usually MMS, WAP and Internet. We’ll need the internet connection for catchmee. You can also configure your connection manually if you wish – you can find out the access configuration from us at http://www.catchmee.com/globalapn.htm
Will catchmee also work on a phone when I’ve changed the SIM card?
Yes! Catchmee is installed on the mobile phone, and only uses the SIM card to send data. That’s why it’s important to make sure that a new SIM card can also support an internet connection. After changing the SIM card, it would be a good idea to test the connection by selecting the catchmee Test connect menu item.
What functions does the web console have to offer?
The catchmee web console (www.mycatchmee.com) is an extremely powerful tool with a range of functions and analysis options.
For example, you can view text messages sent and received, the whole phone book, all of the calls that have been made, and the location of certain mobile phones. Apart from that, you can enter a word such as “love” and find out how many times this word appears in text messages. To make an initial impression of what catchmee can do for you, refer to the Demo section of our website.
How secure is the data on the catchmee server?
We are aware of the sensitive nature of your data on the catchmee server, and your data will always be sent to and from the server using encryption. The catchmee web console is a hosting service for our customers, and each customer is responsible for deleting and backing up information on the console. Catchmee will never pass the data onto third parties except in cases of criminal activity, where we’re forced to pass on the data.
We will tell you about any maintenance and upgrade work on the server to give you the opportunity to back up your data to be on the safe side.
How can catchmee help me find my stolen mobile phone?
Catchmee comes with state-of-the-art anti-theft technology, the latest of its type on the market for current mobile phones.
As soon as the new “owner” – the thief of the phone – inserts a new SIM card, you will be sent all the information on the new SIM card such as the thief’s telephone number by text message to the mobile phone number you’ve given. That can help the police find your stolen phone.
Apart from that, the current location of your phone will be shown using CellID and/or GPS. You can also view the telephone entries that the thief has stored on the new SIM card.
How does location tracking work?
Catchmee shows the current cell that your phone is registered at using CellID. You can use GPS to find the exact location of your phone down to a few yards on a digital world map.
What can I configure using text message commands and server control?
Right after you’ve installed catchmee, you can change the catchmee settings on the phone by sending commands in text messages or using the server console. You can change every single configuration item, even the predefined phone number. The only thing you can’t change is the provider configuration that catchmee uses to connect. We are working on developing a way of modifying this configuration.
How should I go about using prepaid cards?
Since phoning into the internet costs money, you should set up a transfer interval for the data for each day. The data will be collected and sent at one time only during the day. In the meantime, the data will be invisibly stored in the mobile phone until they are sent. This minimises the connections you make and the costs involved. All of our data is sent in very compact data packages, thus use very little of your credit on the card. This approach gives you a highly cost effective approach to this type of technology.
